Hogan says the Coalition will reinstate mental health services

Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan says Labor has cut the number of Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions in half - from 20 to just 10, and that a Coalition Government will bring back the full 20 Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions permanently, so Australians can get the help they need.

Mr Hogan said having affordable mental health support is more important than ever.

“With the cost of living going up, many families and individuals are struggling, and the Government’s cuts have left people without the care they need."

“By making these cuts, the Government has ignored the needs of Australians who live with long-term mental health issues. This shows they don’t take mental health seriously or see it as a priority.”

“We understand how important it is for people with mental health challenges to get the full support their doctors recommend. We will make sure they have access to that care.”

Mental health should be a national priority. The Coalition will ensure Australians get the affordable and compassionate care they deserve.
