About 10.40 this morning (Saturday, 25 January 2025) emergency services were called to Casino Street, South Lismore, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District attended and found a motorcycle and a car had collided.
The motorcycle rider – a 19-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Gold Coast Hospital in a serious condition.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter said the man was stabilised by hospital staff, the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Gold Coast.
The occupants of the car sustained minor injuries.
Police established a crime scene and commenced enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with the assistance of crash investigators.
Inquiries are ongoing.
